Yu Suzuki: Shenmue 4 has no specific plans, but it should be more welcoming to newcomers.

In an interview with Famitsu, Yu Suzuki, the Japanese game designer and creator of the Shenmue series, discussed the franchise’s future. He says there are no concrete plans for the fourth part at this time, but he believes it should be simplified for beginners.
Suzuki stated that this desire arose after the release of Shenmue 3, which he had envisioned as a game for fans only from the start. As a result, he used Kickstarter to raise funds for it. Suzuki is confident that the veterans enjoyed the project, despite the fact that opinions on it are divided.
Suzuki has previously mentioned the possibility of a Shenmue 4 sequel. The Japanese game designer expressed his desire to continue working in numerous interviews after a hint of a sequel appeared in the final credits of the triquel.
The PC and PlayStation 4 versions of Shenmue 3 were released on November 19, 2019.
