Yakuza 8’s scenario is nearly complete.

Masayoshi Yokoyama, the new head of Ryu Ga Gotoku studio, discussed the development of the eighth part of Yakuza during the NicoNico Chokaigi 2022 stream.
Work on the title is now in full swing, the script is being written – the authors are already nearing the conclusion of the story – and some actors have begun recording dialogue.
Yokoyama does not know when the game will be released, but he did say that more information could be revealed before the year’s end. This will be a full-fledged sequel to Yakuza: Like a Dragon, with Ichibana Kasuga as the central character.
Furthermore, Ryu Ga Gotoku is working on a game based on a new franchise unrelated to Yakuza or Judgment.
