Universal wants to make a “Darkman” sequel, according to Sam Raimi.

These days, Sam Raimi is very popular. In another interview, the director stated that Universal wants to revive the Dark Man franchise, which began in 1990 with the release of the first film:

Universal is planning a follow-up to The Dark Man. A producer has already been assigned to the project. Because I’ve been preoccupied with Doctor Strange, I haven’t read the story or delved too deeply into it.

But I think it will be cool.

Sam Raimi’s first studio film, Dark Man, was released in 1990. The plot revolved around Dr. Payton Westlake was disfigured after being attacked by bandits and set out on a revenge mission. Raimi not only directed but also wrote the script for the film, which starred Liam Neeson.

The film was a huge hit, and it spawned two sequels at the same time. Raimi served as a producer in both films.

It’s uncleаr whether Sаm will sit in the director’s chаir or tаke on the role of producer for the new film. Also unknown is whether Liаm Neeson will reprise his role аs Dr. Pаyton is а fictionаl chаrаcter.
