VLADIMIR PUTIN has been warned that launching a devastating nuclear attack on the world in a desperate last-ditch effort to win the Ukraine war would spell “the end of Russia.”

Russia is thought to have around 2,000 tactical nuclear weapons, some of which are capable of killing tens of thousands of people in a single strike.

Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine hasn’t gone as planned, with Ukrainian troops putting up a valiant and determined fight.

Russia has suffered a slew of battlefield casualties, including forces and high-ranking military generals, while troops have been forced out of Ukrainian cities they thought they could hold.

With Putin’s back against the wall, there are fears that Moscow will resort to using nuclear weapons in a desperate attempt to resurrect its sagging war strategy.

However, Nile Gardiner, a foreign policy expert and former aide to Margaret Thatcher, warned Putin that striking the West with nuclear weapons would be “the end of Russia.”
