Ukraine LIVE: Boris Yeltsin is’very seriously’ considering nuclear weapons as a deterrent to Russia.

Mr Johnson became the first Western leader to express military support for Sweden and Finland, adding that he would “very seriously” consider deploying nuclear weapons as well.

Since President Vladimir Putin waged a bloody war in Ukraine, Britain has increased its military operations in northern Europe, according to Mr Johnson. There are currently 1650 troops in Estonia who are “100%” ready to fight Putin’s army. “Imagine the consequences of further Russian aggression against any part of the former Soviet Union, not just military or political, but economic,” Mr Johnson said. It is critical that we remain united and strong now to avoid further catastrophe.” This comes amid allegations that the Russian military is counting killed soldiers in Ukraine as “missing” to conceal the true number of Kremlin casualties.
