Brueckner has not been charged with any alleged crime in connection with Madeleine McCann’s disappearance in the nearly three years since that announcement. Other charges relating to unrelated alleged crimes are expected to be filed in the near future.
Hans Christian Wolters, a spokesperson for the public prosecutor’s office, confirmed a long-held suspicion that all evidence against Brueckner is circumstantial in a new documentary about the evidence surrounding the prime suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, which aired last night.
“We have no forensic evidence that Madeleine is dead, no other results,” he told Channel 5’s program.
“Right now, I’m not sure where the body is.” We would have found it if we had known.”
