The Star Wars film directed by Kevin Feige will be a new take on the franchise.

It may appear that Disney has forgotten about the major Star Wars films. The ninth episode was released in December of 2015, two and a half years ago. Despite this, the studio is working on a number of projects, including the Rian Johnson trilogy, a Patty Jenkins film about the Rebel Rogue Squadron, and films from Taika Waititi and Kevin Feige.

The latter will be a new approach to the franchise. In an interview with Den of Geek, screenwriter Michael Waldron discussed this.

We’ve started work, and it’s nice to have some uninterrupted time to devote to it. It’s also enjoyable to try something new and different. I’m thrilled to be collaborating with Kevin and the Lucasfilm team once more. I also enjoy Star Wars. So it’s incredible.

He also stated that this film will be unrelated to previous films or television shows. The screenwriter compared his work to the Doctor Strange sequel, where everything had to be tied together, whereas here his hands are free.

It is unknown when the film will be releаsed. However, on Mаy 26, there will be а Stаr Wаrs Celebrаtion where they will reveаl more аbout Stаr Wаrs projects, аnd on Mаy 27, the show аbout Obi-Wаn Kenobi will be releаsed.
