‘That’s us screwed,’ Spain screams as British expats are banned from driving.

UK citizens who have lived in the EU country for more than six months will no longer be able to use their DVLA-issued driver’s licenses and will need to obtain a Spanish driver’s license. Visitors to the country who hold a valid UK driver’s license will not be affected by the change. “That’s us screwed, due to the pandemic our TIEs [Spanish Foreigner Identity Cards] were delayed and we didn’t get them until April after the deadline,” expat Ward Priestman wrote on the Facebook group Brits in Spain. We live in the mountains, in the middle of nowhere, and I have no idea what we’re going to do. “Why is this so difficult?” you might ask.
