Stardew Valley surpasses 20 million copies sold

Stardew Valley, an unusual and unpretentious farming simulator, is one of the most notable phenomena of the gaming industry in the last decade: despite the game’s primitive pixel graphics from the 1990s, it quickly gained widespread popularity and critical acclaim.

The indie project’s success was once again confirmed by hard numbers: the game’s official website published updated sales figures, which revealed that the game had sold over 20 million copies. Furthermore, these figures were current as of March of this year.

It’s interesting that, despite the game’s availability on a variety of platforms (including some that aren’t as well-known, such as Vita or Switch), personal computers accounted for the majority of sales, with 13 million copies out of a total of 20 sold.

Remember, Stardew Valley came out in the winter of 2016. In January 2020, she was presented with the 10 millionth copy sold milestone. That is, sales have only increased in the last two years, which is even more impressive.

Eric Bаron, who developed аnd releаsed the gаme on his own, is currently working on а new project cаlled Hаunted Chocolаtier. Even аn аpproximаte releаse dаte hаs yet to be аnnounced by the аuthor.
