AMD has finished preparing the second version of the FidelityFX Super Resolution upscale for release. The technology will be officially released on May 12, when the first game with FSR 2.0 support, Deathloop, will be released.
AMD and partner developers plan to add support for FSR 2.0 to a dozen more projects in the coming months:
FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 is based on the analysis of previous frames and does not use a neural network. FSR 2.0 outperforms the first generation of technology in terms of picture quality.
Starting with the Radeon RX 5000 series, AMD graphics cards can support upscaling. Owners of GeForce GTX 16XX and higher-end Nvidia graphics cards can also get it.
