The first images of Sagittarius A*, a supermassive black hole at the center of our Milky Way galaxy, about 26,000 light-years from Earth, were released last week. Many people have been inspired to create by these images. SrMustard, a gamer, decided to recreate a black hole in Minecraft.

Despite the fact that the photographs are difficult to interpret, SrMustard chose to make his work as realistic as possible. “An accretion disk, the Schwarzschild radius, an event horizon, and a gap between the event horizon and the accretion disk, simulating real empty regions around a black hole,” he wrote.

The gamer shared his creation on the PlanetMinecraft website, where anyone can download it and examine the black hole more closely. Just don’t try this trick in real life or you’ll end up stuck in a bookshelf for the rest of your life.
