Microtransactions in GTA, NBA 2K, and other games will become more important to Take-Two’s profits.

Take-Two has extended its contract with current CEO Strauss Zelnick until March 2029. The publication Axios took notice of this.

Zelnik’s bonuses will now be even more reliant on the success of microtransactions, add-ons, and other game content sales than they were previously.

In-game and NFT subscriptions will also have an impact on bonuses. In the latter case, the company may refuse due to the market’s collapse and the players’ criticism. However, subscriptions have already been implemented in games like GTA Online. By the way, only GTA Online makes billions of dollars from microtransactions.

Take-Two owns Rockstar Games, 2K Games, and Private Division.
