General Mustov, the Southern Military District’s Deputy Commander, led a joint Russian force in Syria. He has been tasked with restoring order to Putin’s units, according to Ukraine’s SBU security service, after troops caused a stir by refusing to fight Ukrainian defenders.
“Russian occupiers are afraid to clash with Ukrainian defenders, so riots in the enemy army are becoming widespread,” the SBU wrote on Telegram on Thursday, May 12.
“To put a stop to them, Moscow is sending’seasoned punishers’ to Ukraine.”
“Well, Muradov came and arranged a show trial because no one wanted to advance,” the soldier was quoted as saying in an intercept of a conversation between a Russian soldier and his father released by the agency.
“The company commanders were adamant about not sending their soldiers to their deaths.”
“And the guys themselves were not ready.
“He [Muradov] punished the company commanders in a theatrical manner yesterday, stripping them, emptying their pockets, tying their hands behind their backs, loading them into trucks, and driving them away.”
Lаrge losses аmong Russiа’s militаry аnd аppаrent slow progress in the country’s invаsion of Ukrаine rаise questions аbout whether Putin hаs considered rethinking his wаr plаns.
