Sweden abandoned its opposition to NATO membership on Sunday, just hours after Finland announced its intention to apply for membership. “Their official reason is fear,” a commentator on Rossiya One said in response. However, they will be more afraid in NATO. “When NATO bases appear in Sweden and Finland, Russia will have no choice but to deploy tactical nuclear weapons to counterbalance the imbalance and new threat.”
