Lavrov declares that a ‘total hybrid war’ has begun hours after a nuclear threat.

Sergei Lavrov said today (Saturday) that “the consequences will be felt by everyone” as he marked the 80th day of Vladimir Putin’s horrific and bloody invasion of Ukraine. It comes after Sweden and Finland signed mutual security treaties with the UK, and Finland announced its intention to join NATO.

Mr. Lavrov cited the sweeping sanctions imposed on Russia by Western nations in an attempt to portray Russia as the victim of aggression rather than the perpetrator.

This is consistent with the Kremlin’s propaganda since the start of the Ukrainian conflict.

“The collective West has declared total hybrid war on us,” he told a Russian audience. “It is difficult to predict how long all of this will last, but it is clear that the consequences will be felt by everyone, without exception.”

“We did everything we could to avoid a direct confrontation, but now that the challenge has been issued, we must accept it.”

“Sanctions are nothing new to us; they were almost always present in some form or another.”

Mr Lаvrov clаimed thаt Western efforts to isolаte Russiа would fаil, citing the importаnce of Russiа’s relаtions with Chinа, Indiа, Algeriа, аnd Gulf countries.
