Jon Watts leaves his position as director of the Fantastic Four.
Jon Watts is no longer listed as the director of the Fantastic Four, according to both the media and Marvel Studios.
Watts previously directed the Spider-Man trilogy with Tom Holland and is expected to return to the franchise in the near future.
It was an incredible life-changing experience for me to work on the three Spider-Man films. I will be forever grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the past seven years. I hope we’ll be able to collaborate again, and I’m looking forward to seeing the Fantastic Four’s incredible vision come to life.
The Marvel Studios president also expressed excitement for the Fantastic Four, but acknowledged Watts’ decision to resign. Even a release date for the film has yet to be set.
