Jeremy Slater, the writer of the Mortal Kombat sequel, talked to ComicBook about Johnny Cage’s role in the film. Although it was obvious, it is now officially confirmed.
Since the character’s appearance was hinted at in the first part, Slater believes it would be strange not to include him in the picture. The importance of the hero in the plot has yet to be determined, according to Jeremy:
One of my favorite characters is Johnny Cage. It would be strange if it wasn’t included in the sequel. His function is unknown, but I’d like to highlight as many of his characteristics as possible.
Wrestler Michael Mizanin, aka The Miz, had previously expressed interest in playing Cage. It is unknown when the film will be released.
