Final Fantasy 7 fans in Japan believe they have seen Midgar in real life.

Some Japanese Final Fantasy 7 fans believe they have discovered the real location that inspired Square Enix artists to create Midgar, the game’s starting city.

It’d be a factory in Gunma, Japan, which, as you can see in the photos attached to the tweet below, shares some stylistic similarities with the iconic location of the most popular Final Fantasy ever.

“A factory in Gunma, Japan, is causing a stir on social media due to its striking resemblance to Midgar City from Final Fantasy 7. ‘Gunma’s Midgar,’ according to the news.”

It should be noted that the author of the reported tweet, Twitter user aitaikimochi, was the one who brought this curiosity out of Japan. We state that the photo’s factory is real, as some users have confirmed. This is from Toho Zinc, which is located in Gunma’s Annaka district.

It’s а minerаl refinery, which mаy or mаy not hаve something to do with Shinrа’s аctivities. Is it true thаt the fаns got it right this time? However, mаny people аre аlreаdy plаnning to аttend in costume.
