EVE Online is frequently described as a “table simulator.” Many EVE hardcore players use spreadsheets to track various data about their in-game businesses, such as profits, fleet damage, potential markets, and so on. CCP Games has decided to meet gamers and has announced official Microsoft Excel support.
The studio revealed during the EVE Fanfest that they had contacted Microsoft and that the two companies had agreed to work together to develop an extension that would take data from the MMO and transfer it directly to Excel. Fans reacted positively to the news.
CCP demonstrated an early prototype of the tool and stated that more information will be available later this year.
New story arcs, beginner class assistance, visual upgrades, and a Spanish-language client were also announced at the fanfest.
