Drivers face severe delays due to M1 chaos caused by a horrific crash near the airport.

The accident has closed at least one southbound lane near Castle Donington, and traffic on both the M1 and the A50 has been impacted.

The lanes were reopened after the crash, and the vehicles involved were moved to the hard shoulder.

However, traffic continues to move at a snail’s pace all the way to Long Eaton.

On the way to the accident scene, traffic cameras show long lines of cars.

On Monday, shortly after 8:00 a.m., long lines were seen on the southbound carriageway.

It’s unclear how long the traffic congestion in the area will last.

It comes after a serious collision shut down the northbound M1 between Leicester and Loughborough for the majority of the day yesterday (May 8).
