Don’t be so sure! Boris is still convinced that the EU will fall apart as a result of Brexit.


If Brussels does not renegotiate the terms of the deal, the UK has repeatedly warned that it will take action to suspend parts of the Northern Ireland Protocol.

In a crucial phone call with European Commission Vice President Maros Sefcovic this morning, Liz Truss reiterated the point.

Mr. Sefcovic warned the Foreign Secretary that the EU would not propose new measures to relieve the Protocol’s pressures.

Despite issuing new warnings that the UK is prepared to act, Prime Minister Theresa May is holding back in the hope that the EU will still give in to his demands.
