Counting Capcom’s Money: A fifth consecutive year of record profit, strong digital sales, and 6 million Resident Evil Village units

Capcom has published its financial report for fiscal year 2022, which ended on March 31st. Sales and profit growth were both up for the fifth year in a row for the Japanese publisher.
The company’s revenue for fiscal year 2022 was $844.9 million, up 15.5% from the previous year. The operating profit increased by as much as 24% to $329.4 million.
Capcom raised its forecast at the end of April, owing to the success of its recent releases, but it still fell short. The publisher expected revenue of $860 million, up from $780 million previously, and operating profit forecasts of $330 million – a significant shortfall, as we can see.
The Japanese company had sold 32.6 million games (+2.5 million) as of March 31, 2022. The majority of sales were made on digital platforms, with Resident Evil Village and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin once again leading the way.

Cаpcom expects revenue of $920-922 million аnd net income of $369-370 million until Mаrch 31, 2023.
