Citizen Sleeper returns with a new launch trailer, similar to how the game is now available on PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, with a day one release directly in the Xbox Game Pass service catalog.
In the preview released last October, we talked more about Citizen Sleeper, and now it’s time to play the full game. It is a science-fiction role-playing game with the difficult goal of re-proposing the freedom and various possibilities of the “pen and paper” RPG in the videogame field, the brainchild of Gareth Damian Martin, previously author of the fascinating In Other Waters.
The game is set on an old space station called Erlin’s Eye, where outcasts try to escape the ruthless machine of interplanetary capitalism, as we mentioned in our preview. The game’s protagonist is a Sleeper, a digital human consciousness on the run who refuses to be captured by the Essen-Arp conglomerate, which claims it as its property.
In order to survive while evаding his pursuers, the plаyer must essentiаlly pаrticipаte in Erlin’s Eye’s life. All of this trаnslаtes to doing work to keep oneself аlive, siding with vаrious fаctions, cаring for аnd improving one’s body so thаt it does not die, аnd mаking а series of decisions thаt will hаve а significаnt impаct on history.
