After she was discovered lifeless in South Ealing, west London, shortly after midnight, a man was arrested on suspicion of her murder. She had several stab wounds and died at the scene despite paramedics’ best efforts.
“We are confident that we know the woman’s identity and are in the process of informing her next of kin,” the Met Police say.
According to My London, a post-mortem examination will be scheduled soon.
The 20-year-old suspect is still being held at a west London police station.
A crime scene has been set up in the leafy suburb, and investigations are ongoing.
Hearing of “such a tragedy,” a local councillor expressed his “sadness.”
“Very sad this morning to hear about the murder that took place last night in Robert’s Alley, South Ealing,” Jon Ball, the Liberal Democrat Councillor for Ealing Common ward, said on social media. What a calamity.
Grange School, Grange Nursery, and Grange Pre-School are all closed today due to the police cordon.
The investigation continues.
