After a trial in Glasgow, a former SNP MP was found guilty of embezzling nearly £25,000.

Between April 26, 2013 and November 30, 2015, Ms McGarry took £21,000 as treasurer of Women for Independence.
She was found guilty of embezzlement on two counts totaling £24,635.
A majority of the jury found the former MP, who represented Glasgow East from 2015 to 2017, guilty.
She was also found guilty of a second charge of taking money while serving as treasurer, secretary, and convener of the Glasgow Regional Association of the SNP from April 9, 2014 to August 10, 2015.
